- White collar blouse (can wear during graduation photo shoot as well =p)

Finally, we are in the week to submit our campaign proposal. So, lets work hard for the final week!

*Money, Money, Money!!! This is such a big amount!!! So, we gotta rely on our sponsorship team for more sponsors in order to reduce our burden to the maximum... Good Luck and all the best to Sponsorship team!

*For your information, the board of director have decided to collect RM100 and Rm50 for the this and the coming sem from each member. The purpose for this money is to ensure our campaign can proceed and carried out smoothly! At least there are some backup fund for us.

Do you all realize that more and more students are getting sick?! I think the bad weather and the haze is the main contributor to this!

Good News!





I'm so excited to announce this good news to all the apples. Most of the designing has been approved. The colour of campaign is green. Thanks for the hard work publicity group especially the designers (Kim Lu, Anna and Gillian). The things that Dr Selva really love :

2) Mascot (She asked us to find someone that really looks like that girl in the picture.. That tall, that slim and that professional looking - any suggestion?)

In this meeting, she really gave us many ideas and suggestions to help us to improve on our work. For TV PSA, she gave us an idea, we will try to work on it.

Thanks again to all the member for your co-operation. Don't be upset if your designs or ideas are not chosen. Is not that your designs and ideas not good enough, just because she is trying to pick the best for our campaign. Don't give up and work hard for the best!

Sunday Update

Hi Apples,

It's Sunday... and here comes a new week. Week 9 is a crazy week for everyone! Crisis submission, Theories!!!!!!!!! and we are meeting Dr. Selva this coming tuesday...

CRAZY!!!!!!

Anyway, we can definitely do it cuz we work together in one large group! Am I right?

So, yesterday, the publicity team took the afford to gather at one place at night to do the design! Im so proud of you guys! muaks! muaks! muaks!

And for launching, most of the things are ready.

Sponsorship is quite slow because we need to have approval before we can proceed...

For the press conference, i think most of it should be ready as well... we have the backgrounder done., the factsheet ready and i believe the news release should be ready as well.

So, at this stage, the publicity have the most work to do!

Apart from that, we are also preparing the written report... It will be compiled today if possible so that we can show Dr. Selva on Tuesday.

So, let's pray that everything's gonna be OK for us.

Launch Updates

Hi Apples!

It has been some time since I last updated you guys. This is because our proposed ideas for the launching day are yet to be approved by Dr.Selva so far. So once Dr.Selva gives a nod to everything, our works start too.

It's going to be a tough week with all assignments and presentations coming together. Keep on moving Apples!! =)

Shocking Wednesday

It was a really shocking Wednesday for me. Can't believe Dr Selva deserved to be treated that way after her effort in changing us to be someone better. It's really upset to hear that she is going to leave us. Although she is fierce and strict to us but think back, she did all that just to make us learn better. If not we wouldn't know how to produce a newsletter, write a news release and the other apples would not know what is the campaign is all about (thanks to the backgrounder and fact sheet). So apples, please log on to Utar Portal and give feedback to the FCI regarding this matter if you really support Dr Selva.

Now, back to publicity latest updates. We had a meeting the other day and discussed about the overall concept and idea of the campaign. Our logo "OK" and our slogan "Be Wise. Prioritize" can be linked together which is when we are wise enough to proritize everything will be OK. Is simple and easy to remember. The TVC idea will be develope form this and we decided to use emotional appeal and slice of life concept. It would be a 30 sec to 1 min tvc. The team is still thinking of the storyline.

For campaign colour it will be light blue and purple. Dr Selva suggested this would be a nice combination.

Next, mascot. We had 7 concepts to be apply to our mascot. The team will do research on each concept and create an image for the mascot.

For designers, they will start designing the T Shirt, bookmarks, collar badge, folder, backdrop, brochure and etc...

We Are the Blue Apples, Not the Rotten Apples

Dear all apples,

Are you curious why I put such heading?

Well, I have reason to do that and I think it is my responsibility as a leader to share my thoughts with all of you. We are all PR students and we know what is ethics. We are all smart, and we know what is right and what is wrong even though sometimes we don't care. But this time, WE HAVE TO START TO LEARN HOW TO CARE.

In this entry today, I am not going to talk about our campaign but our responsible as a student and as an active public of UTAR. I think everybody has already know about the 'poison email' regarding Dr. Selva which is attacking on her personal things. In my own opinion, the person who wrote such email is simply a coward! - not just a coward but also someone who ruined our reputation and image as PR students.

This email does damage to Dr. Selva and it's not a simple damage. This "ROTTEN APPLE" had just hurt the feelings of Dr. Selva - someone who is so devoted to teaching; so passionate whenever she shares her knowledge and experience; and most of all someone who is willing to WASTE her time on us because she believes that we will be SOMEBODY tomorrow. WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE HER THAT WAY? Why do I use the word 'WE' here? Because that 'poison email' had just made us part of its 'STUPID CRIME'. That 'ROTTEN APPLE' somehow made it sounds like as if all of us do not like Dr. Selva which is OBVIOUSLY NOT TRUE!

How many here dare to say that Dr. Selva is a bad lecturer?

I can bet NONE would dare to say that because all of us know really well that we DO LEARN ALOT FROM HER. She has her own style of teaching and it's up to US TO ADAPT IT.

And now, we might lose one very good lecturer because of some immature kids. We can do something about this. Let's not keep quiet and simply let the 'evil rotten apple' take over. I believe all of you including me know about 'The Spiral of Silence' theory. Right now, if you keep quiet and do nothing about this matter, we will be witnessing the Spiral of Silence with our own eyes. Don't keep your point of view to yourself. WE ARE NOT THE MINORITY! MAJORITY OF US HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH DR. SELVA. So, voice out your opinion!

If you like Dr. Selva and you believe that her teaching had somehow improves you and let you gain knowledge, TAKE ACTION NOW!

Be Wise. Prioritise!

Hi all,

How is everyone this week? Happy? Sad? Relaxed? Stressed? LOL. Let's not bother about all the troubles we are facing right now, life has to go on. So, let's just keep moving forward because everything will be OK!

Today is my turn, so, it's my responsible to post something to update all of you regarding our campaign. Before I continue, I would like to say sorry because this blog was slow for a few days. He he...

Anyway, back to the story, we've got one logo approved by Dr. Selva. So, here is the logo...

There are some changes needed to be done on this logo. Our designer is working on it very hard. So, don't forget to give our designer the moral support!

As for the meaning of this log, it has several meanings. So, these are the meanings. I want everyone to know the meanings by heart so that everyone will be able to tell Dr. Selva what it meant if she ask.

1. P in the middle stands for 'Priority'
2. Priority is in our hand
3. It is us to decide what our priorities are. It's up to us whether we want to put our priority first.
4. The three fingers (pinky, ring and middle) represents the 3 main message in out campaign which are health, time management and PRIORITY.
5. One more meaning is that everything will be 'OK' if you know how to prioritize.

Basically, Dr. Selva likes this idea because this logo convey the message very clearly.

Well, for this logo, the credit goes to our designer, Wee Kim Lou from PR3. Applauds!!!!!!!!! Well, other designers, Anna Kuok, Gillian and Ting Fang, you guys did put loads of effort! I know. Don't be sad if Dr. Selva didn't pick ur design... She did gave a few reasons...

Anna's seed:
- Dr. Selva didn't choose this one because there are other campaign group which already use this idea and she said they have a better reason to use it. however, she seems to like this one:-





Gillian's Sun
- Dr. Selva said that you have the talent to design and all the logo u designed were nice, however she thinks that it's abit like jewellary. ha ha ha... So, Gillian! you already did ur best! keep it up.

Ting Fang's Key
- Well, she doesn't like the idea of the key and it seems like Dr. Selva don't like the colour as well. It's too orange according to her. But we do think that the logos u designed are NICE! So, keep up the good WORK!

Well, there is actually one more... tree by Kim Lou,
- Dr. Selva didn't take this idea because the Quality Relationship campaign is using this concept for their campaign!

So guys, applauds to the design team. Well, other groups!!!! though i didn't mention your name here, don't be sad because I know you guys did put alot of effort on your part. I promise if Dr. Selva likes your idea, you will definitely be RECOGNIZED! Credits will only go to the person who do the work. Am I right?

So, ehem... ehem... to those who feels that they are not doing anything to help, you better start doing something. Don't just sit there waiting and doing nothing. Cuz I don't like people who just tag along but do nothing. Sorry to be harsh but I have to be fair because at the end of the day marks given will be the same. Those who doesn't contribute to this campaign and don't even bother to know what is happening in this campaign planning~ don't you dare to think that I can't find out who is it. When I mention it here, means I am giving you a chance to do something. For now, I hvn't really go and investigate yet. So, there is no name in the list yet. Let's pray that we don't have such members. he he... Cheers~

Well, that was about our logo. We've got a slogan as well. Given to us as a gift from Dr. Selva~ So, for this one, the credits go to Dr. Selva. I'm quite ashamed with myself for being incapable of coming out with a good slogan on my own. *sob sob*

Anyway, our slogan is:

BE WISE. PRIORITISE!

Simple, clear and RHYMES!!!

For the mascot... LOL. They are not approved. So, mascot team... *sob sob* have to think more. ha ha ha... Don't give up! we are almost there!!!!!!!

so, for this campaign, our client is the Minister of Youth and Sports! So, don't get this wrong whn u design the brochure.

Is Wednesday, my turn to update the Apples



























Hi my crunchy apples, hope everyone is doing fine. Lots of assignments and presentations coming up. Take good care of your own health and drink more water because we need you to fight with us. Don't fall sick. Hehe... Here are some updates from publicity.

We got 15 mins meeting with Dr Selva tomorrow (16/7) and I will show her logo designs, slogans, floor plan, mascot, games and activities on publicity week. The logo designs are tree, seed of life, key, priority and sun.

For mascot, we have Mr Bomber Man. Familiar rite? Is from the game. But we don't have any name for him yet. As you all can see at his body, there is an archery board (aim right), on his head got graduation hat (priority as a student - graduate), the position and style (look healthy and muscular) and at the back there is a pocket with POST IT notepad, PDA and time table (manage time well and arrange which is important first).

For games and activities, we have more than 10. The approved activities are health check up (blood pressure and BMI calculation), cooking demonstration (simple foods), SMS blast (spreading event detail via bluetooth) and wheel of fortune. More exciting and happening games waiting for approval like MILO drinking challenge and many more.

The slogans we have :
1. Try on size, let's prioritize

4. Size up quality of life, prioritize
5. Prioritize hinders calamity
6. Life quality beats life's quantity

The slogan group is really cracking their head thinking of slogan that rhyme. Apples, please help us with this....

We are writing our campaign's news release, backgrounder as well as factsheet. We will show our work to Dr Selva for approval this thursday. Hopefully, everything goes on smoothly. The next thing that we will be doing is the speeches, Radio PSA & TVC script as well as copywriting for our campaign's brochure.

Super Sunday, Mourning Monday~

Hi Apples,

Today is my turn to update the blog. So how was u guys' weekend? Did all of you had a blast? or did all of you feel that you guys are going nuts preparing for the crisis midterm? Anyway, all the best to everyone! Hope that all the apples can do well!

As for our campaign, the 7 heads will have to meet with Dr. Selva this coming thursday, so wish all of us the best yea!

Tomorrow, the 7 heads and press conference team will be having a meeting to update everyone on the latest things all the groups had done for the campaign. So, do not worry, weng hong will upload the minutes of meeting in our yahoo group so that everyone can take a look at it.

Is quite a stressful period for Apples....




















All of us have seen our senior organized their campaign before. Formal Wear, Fully Make-up, Goodies Bags, Long Queue outside the PC 203, ohya, Pre-lauch activity that to attract crowd and gain awareness...

All of us are quite familiar with this scene, because they really did a pretty good job and manage to “attract" us.

But, what we can see when we was junior, is the "surface", the outer part of their efforts. Most of us were critizied on thier works, for instance goodies bag, design, colour, programme, etc.

YA, IT IS GOOD TO CRITIC OTHERS BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE CRITICAL THINKNING! But do you ever thought that, what goes around, will comes around?

Apples, we are now on the fire... if we did not react fast, immediately, we will burn ourselve BADLY. Use your CRITICAL THINKING to think of what our audience will critize on our works, and then we DO NOT DO IT.

Communication is the most important element in an "Organization', as what we have been taught for 2 years in UTAR. Therefore, free feel to voice out your opinion to us, even if you are attacking us... Conflict means echanging of ideas, therefore, we encourage "PEACE CONFLICT" to happen along our journey to success.

Dr. Selva have high expectation to US (maybe it is more suitable to say high expectation towards our topic). With this reason, she keep pushing us to do something quality.

It is an advantage for us compare with the other groups. So, dont think that we are behind them, because in fact, we are in front of them.

APPLES, let us GAMBATE together, no only for our marks, but also to impress our junior!!

Sponsorship Team Updates

I hope you are all well, :) I am not really accustomed to blogging, so please bear with me while I try my best to update you guys with what the sponsorship team has been doing.

As of now, we have been busy with the client list. A list of all the potential clients will be produced by next Monday and will be handed to Christina to decide which client to approach.

We are also in the midst of compiling a list of possible companies to approach for sponsorship. A representative has been assigned in each tutorial group to collect possible company details from all campaign members. Message from Launching Group

Hello Apples!

Here comes the updates from Launching group. =)

Before I start off, would like to thank all the Launch Apples for all the efforts and comments contributed during the last meet up!Thanks ya! =)

As for the Launching group, we plan the programmes and flow of the campaign day. For the time being, the performances that we're proposing are Step Dance, Kick Boxing Dance, Taekwando Aerobic Dance , Cheerleading and short drama. If the suggested performances were approve by Dr.Selva, we will have to start choreographing the dance and steps. Hey guess what! All of the apples are encouraged to participate in the dance (Dr.Selva prefers performances done by the members not outsiders and we can build a better bond among the apples too right! ) So now, you guys can start thinking of joining which performance of your interest. I'm sure we're going to enjoy the process; spending times together and having fun together!

Besides, the Launching group is handling the exhibition part too. The research members are working hard on it to ensure the information/facts delivered are of interesting and educational ones. And of course not to forget the launching gimmick part which plays a vital role in giving good and lasting impression to the audiences of the day.

And for the Launch apples, don't stop thinking for ideas ya. We always welcome new ideas for games/performances/launching gimmick to make the campaign day a better one.. oops no. the best one! =)

Keep On Moving With the Apples' Love

Dearest Apples,

First of all I would like to say sorry for updating the blog on my part late. My turn was suppose to be on Sunday. He he he... Sowie ^.^ My mum always tell me that when you made a mistake, it will not kill you to say sorry. Ha Ha Ha... Alright, that has nothing to do with anyone, it's just that my mum's face 'FLASH' into my mind when i said that word sorry.

Anyway, this week is a hectic week for everyone. I can see every group is working really hard to make our campaign a big success. The publicity is busy with all the designs and games, the launching is busy with all the launch ideas, the press conference is busy doing all the research to be used in all our writing and last but not least, the sponsorship is busy gathering all the possible sponsors we could get! Everyone is working hard! Good Good Good! Keep it Up!

OK...
There is one thing I would like to request from all of you. Please Please Please listen because it is VERY IMPORTANT. I know some of you will already have some people to invite, some sponsors you would like to approach, but at this stage, PLEASE put all that on hold first. Do not approach anyone untill Krystyn, our sponsorship head says her part. alright? Because if any of you approach them without our knowledge and something unpleasant happens, it might cause a mess to our campaign and at the same time it will give UTAR a bad name and reputation as well. So, we must be very careful when we deal with the external. :-)

Regarding this blog, I am quite dissapointed and sad because so far, only 29 people registered... and the traffic is very bad... *when the traffic for blog is bad... it's the opposite of traffic jammed in real life* means there are very few people who care to know what is going on... or care to suggest something to make our campaign better... Updates from Publicity



















Hi apples, I would like to say thank you because I can see everyone is working very hard for our campaign. Appreciate that. I can see your effort by cooperating with your team mates, participating in every meeting and given us the best outcome. Keep our BLUE APPLE spirit going on!

Here are some updates from publicity group. We will in charge of all the designs, creative work and activities on publicity week. We have been making changes of the campaign colour and improving on the campaign logo, slogan, mascot and games. All these are still pending. Waiting for Dr Selva approval.

In this 2 weeks times, the publicity group will have to prepare all the designs includes floor plan of the launching day, the designs of the exhibition and publicity booth, backdrop, bunting, banner, posters, teaser posters, brochure layout, bookmark designs, T-shirt design and many many more.

Besides, we have to think of the idea for TV PSA and Radio PSA

So, I hope everyone in Publicity will work really hard in this 2 weeks time so we can get the designs approve on 28th July 2009, Tuesday.

It’s my very 1st time to write on this blog. I have been twisting my brain on what I should write. Haha…

1st of all, I’m very glad that PR7 can cooperate with PR3 and PR8 in this campaign. I believe that with the talents we have, we can definitely organize a successful and an unforgettable campaign!

I hope that every sub-group that have gone through the meeting today will obtain a brief idea about the campaign and get a rough plan on their mind to start on the campaign.

I, as a Finance Director is taking in charge of the below aspects:
1) Prepare possible sponsors list to your respective tutorial’s representative.
(a) Company Name
(b) Contact and Website(if any)
(c) Person in-charge
(d) Type of sponsorship
(e) Your name

2) Sort out the props/equipments needed to your head, so that I can prepare my budget as soon as possible and the sponsorship can start their task as well.

3) If you would like to claim for anything for the campaign, please get approval from your head before passing the receipts to me.

4) Anyone of you who have contact with printing shop, please get me a price list, or if possible, please get sponsor from them. As printing is the major expenditure for us at this moment.

Regarding this blog,
1) I hope every apple can try your best to visit it daily in order to get updated with the information provided by our 7 big apples.

2) Do leave your suggestions, comments or critics towards the blog written by 7 heads.

3) Create an account with your real name or nick name that everyone know.
